Glimpse Web Design
This project was a collaboration to design a website for GLIMPSE, an exhibition showcasing the senior portfolios of the Graphic Design BFA class at San José State University. I led a core team of five designers, including myself, who were responsible for the website’s design and structure. While the full class contributed feedback, our team executed the final design to represent the collective work and identity of our graduating class.

Project Overview
Problem Statement
The Graphic Design BFA class at San José State University needed a cohesive and visually engaging online platform to showcase their senior portfolios for the GLIMPSE exhibition. The challenge was to design a website that effectively represented the diverse work of the entire class while ensuring a smooth collaborative process and incorporating feedback from all students. The final product needed to serve as both a professional portfolio hub and a reflection of the class’s shared identity as emerging designers.

Getting Started
Information Architecture
The site architecture was designed to create a simple, intuitive, and scalable structure that effectively organizes content by discipline while highlighting individual students and their work.
Low Fidelity Wireframes: Student Portfolio
While overseeing the entire team’s progress,
Sketch #1
This sketch is a variation of a bento style layout to feature a selection of works from a student on their personal page.
Sketch #2
This sketch pulls out the caption from the image container and adds a modularity to the layout that students can utilize for the different dimensions of their projects.
Sketch #3
This sketch is similar to the bento box layout, with a bit more structure. The projects would be contained in frames with the addition of project tags that explain the skills used for each project.

Refining Details: A modular approach to the Student Portfolios
Student Portfolio: Kat
After consulting multiple times with the rest of our peers, the design team landed on a modular layout that was customizable. This allowed some flexibility for each student to move the frames around to best suit how they wanted to present their works. Tags are added to each project label, that express the skills utilized for that project.
